$38.5M Award Given in CP Case

A family in Connecticut has been awarded $38.5 million in their son’s cerebral palsy suit. The boy was supposedly born with the disability in 2003 and the award has been recorded as being the largest medical malpractice award given in the state.

Doctor Found Guilty

According to the suit, Dr. Corrine De Cholnoky is responsible for the boy’s injuries since she did not perform a Caesarean section in time while delivering Spencer Oram.

Because of the delay, Oram was born with cerebral palsy and his twin sister, who was born a half hour earlier, is completely healthy.

Family Takes Action and Wins Suit

The little boy now has cerebral palsy because of delivery mistake and the Oram family wanted to ensure that the same mistake would not be made to other children.

The family has been compensated for the past and future medical care that Spencer will need, as well as for the pain and suffering he has endured.
