The family of a 20-month old girl who was born with cerebral palsy is asking local residents for help this summer in their hopeful benefit.
When Jennifer and Josh Perry's daughter, Hannah, was born with cerebral palsy they decided they would so anything to enable her to live as normal a life as possible.
Hannah cannot crawl, sit, walk or eat without her feeding tube.
When they heard about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) that was available, they knew it was something they had to get for their daughter.
HBOT is a medical treatment that patients are placed inside.
Atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled, enabling patients to inhale 100 percent oxygen.
“It's will help with her swallowing,” says Josh, “it's also supposed to help with muscle spasms so she may be able to crawl and walk around one day.”
When the patient is inside this oxygen chamber, 10 to 15 times more oxygen enters the body than normal.
The Perry's are holding a fundraiser to help raise money for the $20,000 cerebral palsy treatment and in hopes to educate others in the community about cerebral palsy.
Several business and residents in Florida have contributed their time and money to ensure that “Hannah's Hope Festival” is a success.
