The March of Dimes has launched an interactive online program to help parents care for and better understand the needs and feelings of their newborns, including those children born with cerebral palsy.
The program, called “Understanding Your Newborn: Things That Make Me ME,” was developed with the help of two nationally renowned experts on neonatal care and utilizes games and tests to help parents read the cues babies use to indicate their various needs.
The games and tests are intended to make the program – which includes modules on awareness, sleep, the senses, crying, playtime, and reflexes – fun and interactive for parents who find themselves confused or stressed out when they can't understand the signals their newborn is giving them.
Access to the program is available at www.marchofdimes.com/newborn.
If your child was born with cerebral palsy, it is wise to contact a cerebral palsy attorney who can help you determine if the condition was caused by a medical mistake.
