A man living with cerebral palsy is walking across the state of Michigan on stilts to raise money for cerebral palsy.
The 830-mile trek began earlier this week and the man is hoping to raise money for others suffering from the disability.
Neil Sauter, who is already 6 ft. 3 in., strapped on wooden stilts Monday to begin his eight week journey across Michigan.
Sauter’s fiancée, Kelly, joined him in the walk and told reporters that not even the windy conditions were going to stand in the way of Neil and his mission.
According to reports, Sauter wore long pants with the letters UCP on the side to represent United Cerebral Palsy, the organization which he is raising money for.
Sauter, 24, is a resident of Blissfield, MI, is an adult living with cerebral palsy and plans to walk rain or shine in the stilts for six hours each day.
He hopes to raise over $10,000 on his walk, which began near the Ohio border and will end near Ironwood.
