United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) recently announced that they would be endorsing the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA).
The UCP recognizes their efforts to support, educate, and celebrate more than 50 million family caregivers who are members of the association from across the U.S.
The UCP says that the theme of this year’s Caregivers Month is “Speak Up.”
They hope that the theme will encourage stronger public policy regarding family care giving issues, as well as raise awareness about community programs that support the NFCA.
Those who participate as caregivers for children with cerebral palsy or other types of disabilities provide a wide array of emotional, financial, social, and homemaking on a daily basis to their family and friends.
The NFCA’s services are reportedly valued at $306 billion a year, which is a 19 percent increase from the previous four years.
Online “How to Guides” have been created by the NFCA to help other organizations plan activities to recognize these caregivers and raise awareness on cerebral palsy related issues.
